Luis Enrique: Messi still the best in the world

Ahead of the UEFA Nations League meeting against Croatia, the new coach of the Spanish National Team, Luis Enrique acknowledged that Luka Modric was a great player, along with Ivan Rakitic who was a former referral player, but for the world’s best players, Enrique assessed the predicate was still held by Lionel Messi, the quality is above all other players.

As we known, many parties have championed Real Madrid’s midfielder, Luka Modric to win the award as FIFA’s 2018 world best player or 2018 FIFA Best Player, as the 32-year-old figure competes again with Mohamed Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo in the top 3 candidates. Modric himself previously won the competition with the two players in this year’s UEFA European Best Player category.

Some parties believe that the former Tottenham Hotspur’s player will win the competition in the world’s best player category again. The reason, Modric was not only able to help Real Madrid win the European Champions League title last season, but also led the Croatian National Team to advance to the 2018 World Cup finals.

The new Spanish national team coach, Luis Enrique, has a question related to this. The former Barcelona’s coach recognizes Modric’s quality, as well as his ex-direction player, Ivan Rakitic, but for the world’s best players, according to him only Lionel Messi is above the other players.

“If I talk about [players] of Croatia, I will talk about Modric and [Ivan] Rakitic. But, if I have to talk about the best in the world, the best player’s award should be given to Leo Messi, which is one level above all others.” told Enrique to the reporters ahead of the UEFA Nations League contra Croatia match.

The name Messi is not included in the top three best players in the world, but is included in the world’s best team nomination or FIFPro.
